It is perfect for dinner parties, summer lunches, romantic desserts, family gatherings or whenever you want to serve something elegant with very little effort.
Ingredients
Serves 4–5
For the panna cotta
- 250 ml milk
- 250 ml cream
- 60 g sugar
- 4 gelatin sheets
- 80 ml Dolce Cilento Crema di Limoncello
- Vanilla
For the berry topping
- Mixed berries
- Sugar
- Lemon juice
- Fresh berries to garnish
Method
1. Soak the gelatin
Place the gelatin sheets in a bowl of cold water and leave them to soften for a few minutes.
2. Warm the cream mixture
In a saucepan, gently heat the milk, cream, sugar and vanilla. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is warm and smooth.
Do not let it boil. A gentle heat is enough.
3. Add the gelatin
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Squeeze the excess water from the softened gelatin sheets, then add them to the warm cream mixture. Stir until fully dissolved.
4. Add the Crema di Limoncello
Once the gelatin has dissolved, stir in the Dolce Cilento Crema di Limoncello. Mix gently until smooth.
5. Chill
Pour the mixture into glasses or dessert cups. Place in the fridge and leave to chill until set.
This usually takes at least 4 hours, but overnight is even better for the best texture.
6. Make the berry topping
Add mixed berries to a small saucepan with a little sugar and lemon juice. Cook gently until the berries soften and the sauce slightly thickens.
Let the compote cool completely before adding it to the panna cotta.
7. Serve
Spoon the cooled berry compote over the set panna cotta. Finish with fresh berries on top and serve chilled.
Serving Tip
Serve this dessert in clear glasses to show the beautiful layers of creamy limoncello panna cotta and bright berry topping. For an extra elegant touch, garnish with lemon zest, mint leaves or a few whole berries.
